Setup tips (Conclude Connect)
If you’re setting up Conclude Connect for the first time or troubleshooting unexpected behavior right after you create a connection, we’ve compiled a list of helpful tips.
These tips are useful for Slack and Teams admins as well as users supporting a rollout who need to know what to check and when to involve an admin.
User sign-in (strongly recommended)
Conclude works best when all users are signed in.
- Sign in from the website homepage by clicking Sign in (upper right-hand corner)
- Once signed in, Conclude will be able to post messages with the correct sender identity
- Admins can also send sign-in reminders from Admin console > Users and Send sign in reminder
Microsoft Teams Integration User (recommended)
Setting up this user account is highly recommended when user credentials may not be available on both messaging platforms (the most common scenario is when dealing with customers or vendors on other platforms).
When credentials aren’t available, Teams messages may appear posted by a fallback/random sender
To ensure proper functioning, an admin will need to set up a unique account, see full instructions here, then add the integration user to the Team plus connected channel
For private channels, the integration user must be added directly to the channel
Merge users (only if needed)
When creating connections, you may see channels in Slack but not in Teams (or vice versa) due to multiple accounts.
- If a user has two accounts, e.g., two email domains or aliases, Conclude may treat them as separate users
- The fix is for an admin to merge accounts so the user is recognized correctly across Slack and Teams
- Go to Admin console > Users to find duplicates and select Merge users so the person has a unified profile
@mention your collaborators
The @mention feature works well when users are signed in, and there are no duplicate accounts.
- To mention someone, type their @Name as usual
- The mention may not match locally at first and may appear as plain text to the sender
- Conclude then matches the user in the connected channel and converts it into a real mention on the receiving side, where possible

Message syncing
Slack and Teams handle messages differently. When it comes to managing syncing for older (existing) threads versus syncing new messages/threads across platforms, there are some settings to be aware of.
- When creating a connection, an admin can choose how threads are handled (e.g., sync existing thread history vs only sync new replies going forward)
- Settings can be managed per channel connection, depending on the organization’s global settings
- Internal versus external connections (with clients and partners) also have granular controls in the Admin console

Managing attachments
Conclude offers admins a range of options for managing attachments – including a different policy for images if required.
- Admins can control whether attachments and files are synced for each connection
- If files are missing, ask an admin to check the attachment policy under Admin console > Configuration > Manage attachments
