The Texts tab overrides the wording Conclude generates for one app. You can change the launch button, the dialog captions and buttons, the notification intros, the ownership labels and the name shown for external senders. Use the tab when a default reads wrongly. For example, "created a new lab accident" should be "reported a new lab accident".

## How defaults are built

Every field is optional. An empty field keeps the placeholder default. Most defaults are a fixed verb plus the app's subject. The subject is **Name your ticket** on the [General tab](https://conclude.io/doc/apps/editor/general/#name-your-ticket) when that field is set. Otherwise it is the app label in lower case.

## Fields

Slack and Microsoft Teams share the same dialogs. The intros are Slack only. The Dashboard's own forms use the launch button, the edit and conclude captions, the three buttons, the unassigned label, and the external user name and avatar.

| Field | Default | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Launch button | New *subject* | Slack home and app channel, Teams tab, Dashboard. When it is empty, chat falls back to the Create caption and the Dashboard falls back to New *subject*. |
| Owner label | Assigned to | Ownership line in the ticket info. Owner picker in dialogs. |
| Unassigned label | Unassigned | Replaces the owner's name when nobody owns the ticket. |
| Initiator summary | created the *subject* | Ticket info, after the creator's name. |
| Closed by summary | closed the *subject* | Saved with the app but not shown anywhere at present. |
| Create caption / button | New *subject* / Submit | Title and confirm button of the create dialog. |
| Create intro | created a new *subject* | Slack alert and ticket notification on creation. |
| Edit caption / button | Edit *subject* / Save | Title and confirm button of the edit dialog. |
| Edit intro | updated the *subject* | Slack notification after an edit. |
| Conclude caption / button | Close *subject* / Done | Title and confirm button of the conclude dialog. |
| Conclude intro | closed the *subject* | Slack alert when a ticket is closed. |
| External user / avatar | External User / built-in avatar | Senders Conclude cannot identify ([web form](https://conclude.io/doc/apps/integrations/web-form/), [email](https://conclude.io/doc/apps/integrations/email/)). |

The Owner label placeholder reads `Owner`. When the field is empty, chat shows `Assigned to`. The reopen notification, "reopened the *subject*", has no field. You cannot override it.

## Hiding the ownership line

`nil` is a special value in two fields. Set Owner label to `nil` to remove the ownership line. Set Unassigned label to `nil` to remove the unassigned state. The owner picker then becomes required, and `/c` refuses to unassign a ticket.

The tab edits the `texts` map, which you can also open on the [Expert tab](https://conclude.io/doc/apps/editor/expert/). The keys are the field names in camelCase. `unassignedAvatar` exists only in YAML.

```yaml
texts:
  launchButton: Report accident
  createIntro: reported a new lab accident
  ownerLabel: Responsible
```

The [texts section of the YAML reference](https://conclude.io/doc/reference/yaml/#texts) lists every key.
