How to
Integrations
On this page
Use this tab to give one app an inbound email address, a Jira project or a Zendesk subdomain. The settings here belong to this installed app. You set up a second app separately. A template has no channel behind it, so the template editor does not show this tab. See The seven tabs.
Pick an integration
The Integration picker offers Email, Jira and Zendesk. Email is selected at first. Jira and Zendesk need the organization’s integration list, and Jira also loads the app’s Jira settings. If either one cannot be loaded, the tab says so and offers Retry.
This tab has no settings for web forms or lookup endpoints. You write those as YAML on the Expert tab. See Web forms and Lookup endpoints.
Allow email access via gives the app its own inbox. The app’s address follows that label. On a Slack workspace with a short name, the address is shown at once. Elsewhere it appears after the first save. Until then the label reads “(enable and save to see address)”.
The tab has two more sections. Email summarization sets the summary length and language. Email translation sets the primary and supported languages. Both are described under AI summaries and translation.
Email explains how a message becomes a ticket. The YAML keys are under Email connector.
Jira
The organization must already have a Jira integration. Without one, the tab says that none is available and links to Admin console > Apps > Integrations .
- Tick Connect this app to a Jira project.
- Choose the Jira instance. This field appears only when the organization has more than one.
- Choose the Jira project. Projects that another channel already uses are not offered.
Once you choose a project, two more fields appear. They are Sync pinned comments only and Email of the Jira integration account. The account email is stored on the organization’s Jira integration, so every app on that instance shares it.
On Microsoft Teams the tab marks Jira support as beta.
Jira covers the setup, what syncs and the integration account. Status mapping is under Jira mapping.
Zendesk
As with Jira, a Zendesk integration must exist in the Admin console first. Tick Integrate with Zendesk and choose the Zendesk Subdomain. The tag, triage and attribute mapping have no controls here. You set them in YAML. See Zendesk, Zendesk integration and Zendesk mapping.
