How to
Manage email domains
On this page
Account admins can limit which email domains Conclude shows in the user directory and in user pickers. Large Slack workspaces and Microsoft Teams tenants often hold guests, partners and test accounts that nobody needs in Conclude. Domain filtering narrows the directory to the domains you choose.
What the setting controls
- Users from an included domain can appear in the Conclude user directory and in Conclude-managed user pickers
- Conclude leaves out users from every other domain. They do not appear in the user directory, in search or in user pickers. That includes the picker you get when you start a cross-platform chat with
/c chat - If you select no domains, Conclude lists everyone
- A domain matches exactly. If you include
company.com, that does not includeeu.company.com. The subdomain appears as its own entry - You can include at most 200 domains
Users who stay listed
Some users stay listed even when their email domain is not included:
- Workspace administrators and owners, and anyone who holds a Conclude role such as admin
- Users who signed in to Conclude or were active in Conclude in the last 90 days
- Accounts without an email address, because there is no domain to read
- Bot and agent accounts

Manage email domains
- Open Admin console > Users and access > Users .
- Open the three-dot menu at the right of the toolbar and select Manage email domains.
- Select the email domains to include in the Conclude user directory.
- If a domain you need is missing, enter it under Add a domain that is not listed and click Add.
- Read the summary. It says how many members and guests will stay listed, and how many will no longer be listed.
- Click Save.
After you save a filter, the Users page shows the number of included domains next to the user count. The filter menu also gets an Outside your domains view, which lists the excluded accounts.

Example. A Microsoft Teams tenant has users from company.com and partner.com, plus guest accounts on other domains. The admin includes only company.com. Conclude no longer offers users from the other domains in its user pickers, apart from the users listed above. Their Microsoft Teams accounts stay as they are.
When to use domain filtering
- Your Slack workspace or Microsoft Teams tenant holds many users who have nothing to do with Conclude
- You want user pickers to focus on one company, one subsidiary or a set of approved domains
- Guest or partner domains add noise when people start chats or select users
- You want one rule for the whole directory instead of hiding many accounts one by one
Domain filtering, hiding and merging
| Action | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Manage email domains | You want to include or exclude broad groups of users by email domain. |
| Hide user account | A specific account should not appear in Conclude even though it still has a valid purpose in Slack or Microsoft Teams. |
| Merge user accounts | The same person has separate Slack and Microsoft Teams identities that Conclude should treat as one user. |
To exclude a single duplicate, resource, legacy or guest account, hide that account instead of filtering its whole domain.
